About Project Crimson Sky
Imagine a story that weaves together dozens of characters spread out through multiple eras of time, encompassing various sub-genres of science fiction, and told in real-time.
This is Project Crimson Sky, an ever expanding story which takes place in the same story telling universe as Adam Mullen's indie sci-fi western comic Lost Dominion.
Project Crimson Sky began as a prequel story to Lost Dominion, set during a turning point in humanity's history before they ventured out into the galaxy. The initial outline was written in 2017 but sat gathering digital dust until 2022 when Adam began adapting it to fit a wider vision of Lost Dominion's lore, creating a timeline of events.
In 2023, Adam began fleshing out the timeline's events and, drawing on the extended media he created for the Lost Dominion comic, was quickly drawn to the idea of an in-universe historical archive. The number of archive texts quickly grew and Adam realized he had built a framework for a story that outgrew the prequel idea.
Then in 2024, Adam began working on smaller projects presented as in-universe websites and texts that were originally planned to be separate from Project Crimson Sky. Eventually, Adam chose to incorporate them into the Project Crimson Sky story he had crafted.
Project Crimson Sky began releasing in 2025 with its story launch one year later in January 2026. The story continues at least every other week across social media, YouTube, and Substack.
