Back to the Moon
June 11th, 2026
Athena III, led by Society of Adventurers member Captain Kelsey Clark, made history by becoming the first humans, as well as the first woman, back to the moon since the 1970s.
The crew touched down on the lunar surface at 7:36am Eastern time on June 11th, 2026. Cheers erupted from the Higgins Grand Room where many society members had gathered to watch their fellow Adventurer take her first steps on the moon.
Captain Clark's mission was to seek out a suitable location for a future moon base in only four days. The Athena III crew safely touched down in the Pacific Ocean on June 16th.
